Individuals

There are currently some 3,300 individuals listed in the database, 2,900 of whom were active in local politics, voluntary associations or other aspects of civil society. The remainder have been entered primarily because of their business activities, although there is a noticeable overlap between the two entry categories.

To find an individual entry simply type in the name and then press for ‘more information’. This will then provide details in most cases of that person’s occupation, where they lived and other pertinent details like the voluntary associations to which they belonged, church membership, a picture of the house in which they lived, etc.
